Follow the Trails to Triple R Ranch

The idea of Triple R Ranch began when a small group of cowboys came together with a desire to improve and strengthen their community by building relationships and teaching horsemanship skills. As a result, the gates were thrown open to anyone who wanted to join in! The goal of Triple R Ranch is to provide Rest for the weary, Refuge from life's storms, and to help Reveal God's love. Triple R Ranch is nestled in a small valley near the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, at the heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest.

With the growing drug problem, children of Appalachia were in need of alternatives to drug use. The group developed a FREE weekly program called Cowboy Up for Christ. The program was a huge success, serving nearly 2800 home-cooked meals to participants and needy families per season. Not only does the program provide food, but it also gives children the opportunity to learn how to ride and fish, teaches responsibility, and most importantly introduces them to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Adults and children alike have the opportunity to slow down, disconnect, and admire God's creation on the beautiful ranch property. Cowboy Up for Christ is now in its tenth season and meets Monday nights at 6 p.m. from mid-April to October.

Triple R Ranch Outfitters was created to help fund the free Cowboy Up for Christ children's program.  Two different pack trip options are available to accommodate the needs of our visitors.  Progressive trips offer the option of setting up camp in a new location each night and drop camps are available for people who prefer to relax and wind down on their trip.  We hope our visitors have the opportunity to experience the beauty and hospitality of southeastern Kentucky, which has been bred into the Appalachians for many decades.

Our newest adventure is gentling BLM Wild Horse and Burro Mustangs for public adoptions through the Mustang Heritage Foundation Trainer Incentive Program.  We often use wild horses on our pack trips, so you may have the opportunity to meet one while you are here!  They are sure-footed, make excellent pack horses, and form a strong bond with their riders.

Whether you are a child or adult, an experienced rider or a novice, Triple R Ranch has a horseback riding experience waiting for you. Please let us know how Triple R Ranch can accommodate you, your needs, or your group's needs.
