Follow the Trails to Triple R Ranch
The idea of Triple R Ranch began when a small group of cowboys came together with a desire to improve and strengthen their community by building relationships and teaching horse skills. As a result, the gates were thrown open to anyone who wanted to join in! The goal of Triple R Ranch is to provide Rest for the weary, Refuge from life's storms, and to help Reveal God's love. Triple R Ranch is nestled in a small valley near the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, at the heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest.
With the growing drug problem, children of Appalachia were in need of alternatives to drug use. The group developed a free weekly program called Cowboy Up for Christ. The program was a huge success, serving nearly 2800 home-cooked meals to participants and needy families per season. Not only does the program provide food, but it also gives children the opportunity to learn how to ride, and most importantly introduces them to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Adults and children alike have the opportunity to slow down, build relationships, and admire God's creation on the beautiful ranch property. Cowboy Up for Christ is now in its eighth season and meets Monday nights at 6 p.m. from mid-April to October.
As time has traveled on, more opportunities for Triple R Ranch to share God's love through horses have continued to surface. One of those occasions came as a local residential drug rehab center, called Beth's Blessing, quickly noticed the impact horses could have on recovering patients. The Ranch partnered with Beth's Blessing and now offers private Equine Assisted Psychotherapy sessions to residents at the rehab center. Triple R Ranch shares in the sentiment that Winston Churchill expressed when he once said, "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man" and because of that, will continue to seek other chances to open our gates.
Trail riders enjoy the natural beauty surrounding The Ranch and take advantage of this hidden treasure. Soon, horseback riders from all over the country wanted to ride the beautiful Sheltowee and various other trails of the Daniel Boone National Forest. It is an advantage that these meandering trails are near The Ranch. They showcase spectacular rock formations, ramble through the War Fork Wild and Scenic River, along the Horse Lick Bio-reserve, wander underneath waterfalls, and roam atop scenic overlooks. The Triple R All-Inclusive Equestrian Vacation was created to accommodate the needs of trail riders who wish to experience the breath-taking scenery God has painted on the hillsides of this beautiful land. We hope our visitors have the opportunity to experience the hospitality, which has been bred into the Appalachians of this region for many decades. God's presence is strongly felt from the back of the majestic animals that He has created while being present in the beautiful landscape that He imagined into reality.
